Accessibility Statement For The American Hotel

The American Hotel is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. Our property was built prior to 1991, and we are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards.

Conformance Status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. The American Hotel strives to maintain compliance with the World Wide Web’s Consortium’s Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 Level AA (WCAG 2.1 AA) on our website. While the industry is not operating from approved, regulated legislation, The American Hotel is committed to our good faith effort to follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) guidelines.

  • Roll-in shower with grab bars
  • Service support animals welcome
  • TTY machine is available upon request
  • Rooms #205 & #206 feature lowered clothing rack, lowered peephole, 36” clearance around bed, etc.

Our hotel is a 4 story walk-up with no elevators and no guest rooms on the first floor. There are ADA restrooms on each floor that feature roll-in showers, shower seats, adjustable shower wands, and grab bars around the toilet.
